The Energy Department specialises in the global trading of liquid natural gas (LNG) and petroleum products, and intends to establish a trusted presence in energy trade activities from upstream resources to environmentally sustainable energy development. We have been playing the important role of optimisation of demand/supply for the LNG market as well as physical trading activities. With such experience and a skilful knowledge of LNG and other energy products, the Division aims to participate in upstream activities in oil and gas fields. We are facing the challenge of the exploring of gas fields and investing in natural gas fields in the Middle East, CIS and Africa. At the same time, we are aiming to develop both new and sustainable energy, such as methane hydrate, and encourage the upward trade flow of condensate from the Middle East to various markets.
On top of this, we have participated significantly in the LNG terminal at Montoir in France in cooperation with EDF Group, enabling us to forge the best possible partnerships with major oil companies and related firms, not only as the co-investor but also as a functional value chain producer within the total trade flow of the Middle East and Africa, as well as Europe and the CIS area.
In order to establish strategic business partnerships with mega oil & gas producing national companies within the regions such as Gazprom in Russia, QP in Qatar and Sonatrach in Algeria, we maintain very close relationships not only in up-stream but also down-stream.
