As a comprehensive, multi-functional player in structuring various projects, especially in such industrial fields as energy and natural resources, water supply, railway transportation and social infrastructure, the Projects Department provides valued services through plant construction, sophisticated financing and project investment.

As well as offering fundamental engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) functions, we also provide a host of related solutions, including sophisticated financing packages, risk sharing through equity participation and the management of projects for the duration of their operational lives – adding value at all stages of the value chain and throughout a project’s life-cycle.

We are involved in a great variety of investment projects throughout the world. In Europe, we have launched and expanded a railway locomotive leasing business through Mitsui Rail Capital Europe B.V. (MRCE), a wholly owned Amsterdam-based subsidiary. We have also acquired and expanded power generation assets in the UK in partnership with International Power plc., as well as actively participating in the environment business, in areas such as renewable energy especially wind power generation and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
