Mitsui Europe, with its head office in the heart of London, manages the overall business activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa through more than 50 offices in over 30 countries. Mitsui Europe has 10 operating divisions encompassing Iron & Steel Products, Iron & Steel Raw Materials & Non-Ferrous Metals, Projects, Machinery, Organic Chemicals, Plastics & Inorganic Chemicals, Energy & Financial Markets, Foodstuff & Retail, Consumer Products & Services and Transportation Logistics.

In April 2005, Mitsui Europe introduced a new business operation structure — the Business Division System — under which divisional operating officers take responsibility for a product or service throughout the region. The new system allocates resources accordingly, creating efficient and competitive operations, while still allowing for the continued expansion and diversification of business fields throughout the region, increasing Mitsui’s geographical scale and the reach of its activities.
